Ok, so Cory's parent's come here just as I got home from getting my nails done, perfect timing!! I load up the car as they get setteled inside and then start explaining where this or that was and left a list of numbers to call to reach us or if they needed anything. We get into the car and immediately I feel like I am forgetting something.....I run through a mental list of EVERYTHING we needed to have to get ready and I had everything. Finally, I think to myself that the reason I felt like that was because we usually have our KIDS with us!! LOL. We get down the street and I make him pull over several times to triple check that we had his shoes or my shoes, etc....even though I *know* I packed them. Afterall, I didn' t want to be all the way in deep San Diego and then check!!
We get to the hotel after about two hours or so and it was RIGHT on the beach!! We go to check in at about 3:30 and we pull around to our room...we were SUPPOSED to have a garden view (I honestly didn't care which view we had, i was just grateful to be out with the hubby alone ;) but they gave us a BAY view. Even better!! We look directly out our sliding glass doors and see the harbor with boats and the shore right there and off ont he other side of the water was the Sea World tower and park.....I was in heaven. After we got settled, I was starving so i conned Cory into ordering some room service. At first, he tried to get me to wait the 3 hours until dinner at the party but he caved in and we had the BEST club sandwich ever... (So good, cory even ate it with the veggies and I ate it with the mayo. LMAO)
At about 5:30, we started getting ready and at 6:30 took a walk and headed over to the party. I didn't realize how fancy this party really was, considering Cory's co-worker told him he would be overdressed. LOL. It was a GIANT banquet room with waiters handing out, as cory called it, "rich people appetizers". LMAO. I love my redneck hubby ;) They had two bars on either side of the room with food set up on both sides as well. I never knew that this company had SO many workers!! I got to meet everyone that Cory worked with and our table was such a riot. We had a guy named Todd (who reminds me of Ryan when he gets drunk), and his wife, Eric (they guy that helped cory work daily after being off for months!!) and his wife, and Brad and his girlfriend at our table. The dance floor was huge and I honestly didn't think anyone would dance since it was a company party, but I was wrong.
About halfway throught he night, the owner, Jim Coffman, got up and said a toast and a tthe ending of the speech, we were all given a shot of patrone as our drink to do with him. At first, I didn't think cory would have any but towards the end of the speech, he acutally downed it.....I was impressed! (He isn't much of a hard liquor shot kinda guy) That, I have to say, was the smoothest shot I have EVER had. Then, that is when everyone started getting on teh dance floor. Byt his time, I had had 2 cranberry juice and cocktails, 1 mei tai, and the shot but I still didn't want to get out there and dance for fear of embarrasing cory. HEHE. Then, Todd came up and handed cory a drink and told him that he would love it...it was called Stoli and Seven. Who knew two simple things could taste so yummy! After tasint that, I had those for the rest of the night :P . Everytime I went up tot he bar, Todd was there so instead of making me wait in a long line, he would call me over, say, "What do you want love?", and ask for it for me.....only ting was, he was getting them as doubles and you can only imagine what that lead to.....lOL. Finally, towards the end of hte night, Eric's wife and i got out on the dance floor and were dancing and having a blast.
When it was time to leave, we got back to the hotel and i was out like a light. .. . woke up the next morning and we got ready and went out to the shore and I got to put my feet in the water......i had been dying to do this for years since everytime we go tot he beach, its always at night for pier fishing (dont get me wrong, i love going pier fishing but I had been aching to put my feet in the salt water ;) We walked around the hotel and got some great pics too..... I can't wait until next year for the party again!
Not bad for me taking the pic! LOL
Lookin' Handsome....(he spilled on his red tie so he took it off lol)
